I am a fan of Instituto A.C.C. and one day in the stands, I was able to round out the idea that had been bouncing around in my head for some time. A daily sports trivia game, Wordle-style, to share with friends.

If Instituto was playing against River, I wanted to know what facts and trivia existed between the two teams. Players who had played for both teams, historical results, etc.

Today, Deportrivia is a daily sports trivia game, Wordle-style, to share with friends.

The world’s most important leagues are covered, along with their teams, players, and trivia. The FIFA World Cup is also included.

How it works

On a daily basis, I retrieve matches from the most important leagues, and through a detailed search process, 7 questions are generated for each match.

There were mistakes along the way—questions that didn’t make sense, poorly generated questions, etc. It wasn’t easy, but today it is very well curated and generated entirely automatically, with no human intervention.

Using Gemini and OpenAI APIs, it’s all magic.
