The End of Deportrivia.com

Aug 2, 2026 2 min

This is the end of the journey for Deportrivia.com. In my mind, it was a great product; in reality, not so much.

I’m going to keep it brief, because this isn’t anything serious. In fact, I’m proud to close something early when it never showed any signs of life. The projects I take on have a life of their own, because they carry a part of me: my thoughts, my solutions, and above all, my time. That’s why, for me, it’s fair to say that it never showed any signs of life.

Deportrivia.com was a multi-layered challenge: workers, cron jobs, external APIs, load balancing across different AI models, and refining the prompt for each match as much as possible. It was a simple page in an underexplored space, with a level of overengineering worthy of someone who wants to learn how to build something new and finds an excuse to try it… in other words: me.

That’s it — a goal celebration for Deportrivia. I hope it wakes up again one day.
