After the World Cup
The World Cup came and went. Argentina stood at the gates of sporting glory, but fell into the hell of hatred from the rest of the world, with accusations as strong as racism, violence, discrimination, and so on.
I don’t care much about the excessive hatred, because when there is so much hatred, it’s because there’s another reason behind it. And when it’s so excessive, so coordinated, so visible, it’s because there’s someone, and that someone has a motive. The best way to prevent that someone from achieving their objective is to completely ignore their stupidity, their talent for being the most dominant idiot in the world.
With that last paragraph about the World Cup, I’m opening the space toward what I really want to write about. One of my projects for this year is Deportrivia. In my expectations: a great product, something really different. In reality: the window for real validation let me down.
The thing is, the World Cup is an event that leaves all of us eager for different stories, like which team is the surprise, what’s the big failure (Uruguay), who’s the champion, and who people talk about for their story. Between that anticipation, there are political movements and also a search for joy. In my case, there was hope to validate with certainty what Deportrivia was to me.
Deportrivia, to this day, didn’t perform as I expected. In fact: it didn’t perform. And the question isn’t why it didn’t, but how it moves forward. And the answer is quite clear: it doesn’t.
But I’m stubborn, and I’ll keep going, but I’m not an idiot, I’m not going to contribute much more time. I’m going to let, as few times in my life, time contribute to the project.
On the other hand, my other projects took great steps. Eventor had a great moment with several fan fests that took place in Córdoba, among many other events. And JuegoSimple.com moved forward one more step, it’s no longer a product in validation, it’s a product with reality.
And in the space of the World Cup, other new failures came to my head, I mean projects… I’m joking, none of them are failures, but I’m willing for them to be, because what matters is failing until you don’t anymore.
